Blefaroplastia

The eyelids are the frame of the eyes. Any change in the eyelids affects the look and natural expression of the face.

Eyelid changes may occur at an early age, but are most often seen in patients older than 45..

Process

The upper eyelids wrinkle, lose firmness, fall and make the eye look smaller causing a sad and tired look. The lower eyelids wrinkle, lose firmness and pockets of fat may appear, giving the face an expression of tiredness and old age.

All these changes are improved with eyelid surgery. Some patients require surgery of the upper and lower eyelids. But others, only the upper or lower eyelids. It is very important to perform a thorough physical examination to determine the best treatment and surgery approach to achieve a natural result.

This surgery can be performed under local anesthesia. Hospitalization is not necessary, and recovery requires a minimum of three days’ rest. The scars left are almost invisible.
